The Private Instruction Experience
Music lessons are considered a rite of passage for many children. We at the Floral Park Music and Dance Center have a music teacher that fits your music lesson needs.
Our teachers are qualified instructors and have various backgrounds and experiences that will not only show them how to play but will teach them to love playing.
We're here to provide you with the instructors you hoped to find for you and your child's music lesson needs.
Scheduling Information
We offer 2 types of piano lessons; private and semi-private. All other lessons are private.
Instructors conduct lessons weekly at a set time for 30 or 60 minutes.
Your registration reserves your time slot for the year..
Priority is given to returning students and early registrants

Whether your interest is in learning ballet or playing an instrument, you can find it here with us. Piano, Guitar, Violin, Flute, Clarinet, Viola, Cello, Percussion and Dance lessons offered.
Leadership through music...
The world of music delivers many examples of leadership and of people working together to create great achievements in times of change. As such it is a valuable metaphor for the individual in business today to use in understanding his or her leadership style as well as understanding better how organizations can work more effectively to get things done. Music and musicians offer insights for anyone to learn more about themselves – how well they listen, communicate and cooperate with others, use their imagination, create or solve problems. Music teaches a greater self-understanding and builds self-confidence.
Long Island Music Teachers Association
We are proud to announce that we are members of the Long Island Music Teachers Association (LIMTA).
Each year our students participate in their festival which is held every June on Long Island. It helps to provide an objective point of view of how the student is performing.
New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA)
NYSSMA sponsors approximately 145 solo & small ensemble and major ensemble festivals in New York State each spring. Students are given a performance evaluation that involves playing a graded solo from the NYSSMA Manual, playing scales and sight reading. At major ensemble festivals, school bands, choruses and orchestras are evaluated. NYSSMA festivals (other than for All-State) are evaluations, not competitions. Students may compete with themselves from year to year.
Performing well at NYSSMA could lead to the opportunity to participate in All-County, All-State and the Tri-M Music Honor Society. The Floral Park Music and Dance Center has a team of professionals that can prepare your child for NYSSMA each year.
